So it's been about a week since I have came home from OCS and I am BORED! Going from moving all the time to not is a huge change for me, is this what culture shock is like? But, I have found a job...Assistant Manager at the local Papa Murphy's. Pretty sweet gig, I know. I also have been contracted by my dad to do some more handyman work around his place. AND come Monday I will find out if I get hired as the new school crossing guard. Oh yeah, big time livin' for me. But, I still find myself with a lot of downtime, and I have nothing to do.
I have been taking some more photos, but I have to mail them (maybe not have to, but I choose to) to Decorah for developing because there is no one local so I wait until there is a large amount that need to be processed. But I am getting more and more comfortable behind the lens of my Holga. So much so that I am looking to expand my repertoire in Lomography with this little number, but it will have to wait (maybe a present during the holidays).
Since I have been home though, I have developed some pretty painful migraines. Not sure what the cause is, not sure if there are any triggers, not really sure about anything. The doctor gave me some pills to take, I took one and nothing changed...pharmaceuticals...so I am just toughing it out I guess. I have had these migraines for the last couple weeks, but I think being so busy at OCS, I just didn't pay much attention to them. I'll keep you updated on that issue.
The big issue in my life right now is running, or the lack there of. I want to run so badly. If you recall, I was building quite the love for running before I left. While I was in I was sold, running is now my favorite activity. But with the stress fractures, I was told to wait 6-8 weeks. And this time, I think I will listen to the doc. But man, I want to run. Especially with this time on my hands. So what do I do instead? I plan my future runs.
I am writing a training plan for myself, for when I get healthy. End points are unclear right now, but I am deciding between and Ironman or a Marathon. Maybe both? If I choose Ironman I should probably get some cold weather gear and hop back on the bike. Maybe that will be this weeks endeavor. I could probably tune the bike up if nothing else.
I am growing my hair out. I don't have to shave it for swimming, and I don't need to keep the high and tight now. How long? Meh, we'll see.
